What is Iaido?

Iaido is the art of the Japanese sword, of drawing and striking in a single, smooth movement. Using metal swords (Iaito), students learn Kata - Simulated combat situations that reflect the traditional uses of the sword. The art teaches the techniques and posture required to correctly handle a sword, along with developing the focus, confidence, and general well-being of the student.

If you have ever wondered what it is like to use a Japanese sword, or have an interest in the tradition surrounding them, come along and try out a training session!
